A online resource for newly diagnosed cancer patients, families and caregivers containing listings and information on useful websites, treatment facilities, support groups as well as real-life accounts from cancer survivors.
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute is a local, non-profit
organization working to ease the burden of cancer in Northeastern
Pennsylvania (NEPA). Focusing on community and patient services,
hospital and practice support services, and cancer surveillance, the
Cancer Institute invests all of its resources in NEPA.
The primary service area for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute includes the following Counties: Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming - with additional services in Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton.
To accomplish the organization’s mission the Cancer Institute partners with member hospitals: Geisinger Community Medical Center; Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Henry Cancer Center; Moses Taylor Hospital ; Mid Valley Hospital ; Tyler Memorial Hospital; Regional Hospital of Scranton ; Special Care Hospital; Wayne Memorial Health System; and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital; oncology related and specialty practices; area businesses; public and private service agencies; foundations; community leaders; and governmental entities at all levels.
Some community programs that you might be familiar with include the annual Cancer Survivors Celebration, C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, and the Virtual Tile Gallery. The Cancer Institute is your local resource for cancer statistics and information on cancer in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
