Local Cancer Statistics
- An estimated 9,600 individuals are diagnosed with cancer each year in the 10 County area defined as Northeastern Pennsylvania which includes Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming Counties.
- The most commonly diagnosed cancers in Northeastern Pennsylvania include lung cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer.
- In Northeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 30,000 individuals are living with cancer.
